Hospital Stay

It seems that we now finally have a reason for why I have felt so bad all summer. My gall bladder was a mess. I had hundreds of gallstones and was trying to pass them which was what was causing all of my pain. The problem finally hit the breaking point last week when the pain would not go away after two days. I visited my doctor who did not have an ultrasound on site and gave me prescription meds for what we thought was an acid reflux condition. I began taking that medicine again but the pain was still not going away so I finally went to the ER were they immediately did an ultrasound and found the offensive gall bladder problem. I had it removed the next day but there was still a stone lodged in a bad location so I had to stay in the hospital over the weekend and then have another procedure on Monday to remove that stone.

It has now been a week since the gall bladder was removed and the pain is gone but I am still tired alot and eating carefully. I have been amazed at how many people have had their gall bladder removed especially women who have been pregnant. It appears to be a pretty common problem. I would not wish it on anyone so if you have pain in your chest that goes into your back have them check your gall bladder right away and maybe you can avoid some of what I did. I have learned that trying to determine your own illnesses is not the way to go.

Erynn's birthday is this next weekend so I am glad we got it figured out and resolved before that.
